A Word from Our Commander
Those of us who live here on our little island bask in the knowledge that we have it all: The relaxing pace of life; the beauty of our many beaches, parks and gardens; the proximity of larger centers from Nanaimo to Victoria to Vancouver and the wonderfully benign climate that allows us the freedom to enjoy all of the above as well as the surrounding boating environment virtually year round.
The Gabriola Island Squadron has, in its short life, grown to over 75 members and has offered CPS courses to close to 300 students. Our competent and charismatic group of instructors has led the squadron to many awards at both the District and National levels. Each year we offer the basic Boating Course (including PCOC) at least twice, as well as other CPS courses such as Maritime Radio, GPS Navigation, and Piloting according to demand.
